What is the ruling regarding one who has killed thousands of Muslims, besieged and burned mosques, killed worshippers, and openly declared disobedience to Allah? And what is the ruling regarding those Christians and religious figures who supported and backed him? And what is the ruling regarding one who has falsely accused Muslims of being Khawarij? And what is the ruling regarding his forces that carry out his orders?

The questioner's previous inquiry regarding the ruling on supporting oppressors has already been answered. As for his question concerning the ruling on one who describes Muslims as Kharijites without any of the characteristics of the Kharijites being apparent in them, this is a grave sin and a clear slander, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Do you know what backbiting is?" They said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "It is your mentioning about your brother that which he dislikes." It was said: "What if what I say is true about my brother?" He said: "If what you say is true about him, then you have backbitten him; but if it is not true about him, then you have slandered him." And due to Allah's Almighty saying: "And whoever commits a sin or an offense and then blames an innocent person for it has taken upon himself calumny and a clear sin" (Quran 4:112), and His saying: "And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly borne a slander and a clear sin" (Quran 33:58). And due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever says something about a believer that is not true, Allah will make him dwell in Radghat al-Khabal until he retracts what he said." And his saying: "Whoever accuses a believer of something intending to disgrace him, Allah Almighty will detain him on the bridge of Hell until he retracts what he said."
