Is lying to parents to obtain money considered theft?

A Muslim must avoid lying, as it is a path to Hellfire. It is not permissible to lie to parents to obtain money, unless the money is for necessary sustenance that cannot be obtained except by lying. As for requesting money for entertainment with friends, this does not permit lying. One must repent to Allah for this lie and resolve not to return to it.
