How is it for a girl who got her menses upon arriving in Mecca, with a limited duration for her stay, to perform Umrah?

The jurists differed on the condition of ritual purity for circumambulation (Tawaf). The majority of scholars stipulate it, citing Aisha's narration, "except that you should not circumambulate the House until you become pure," and Safiya's narration, "Is she detaining us?" and Ibn Abbas's statement, "Tawaf is prayer." The Hanafis, however, view it as an obligation that can be compensated for by an offering of blood (dam).

Ibn Taymiyyah and others favored the view that it is not permissible for a menstruating woman to circumambulate if she is able to attain purity. However, if the woman is unable to wait until she becomes pure, either because she cannot be left behind by her group, or fears for herself and her property, then she may circumambulate after performing ghusl and wearing a sanitary pad. There is no blame upon her, for "Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity." This is analogous to prayer, which a worshipper performs according to their circumstances when unable to fulfill some of its conditions. If it is possible for her to take medication to delay her period, that is good.
