What is the ruling on working as an accountant at the Egyptian Opera House, and must one refuse a job provided by a father if it is impermissible?

Opera, with its accompanying mixing of sexes, exposure of 'awrahs (parts of the body that must be covered), dancing, and singing with music, are forbidden matters. It is not permissible for a Muslim to practice it as a profession or participate in it. Whoever works in it is assisting in sin. A Muslim must abandon this work, and Allah will compensate him with something better. Obedience to one's father is obligatory in what is good, not in disobedience. Therefore, he should not accede to his father's wish to pursue this profession.
