Is it permissible to pay the sum of 28,000 pounds, unlawfully demanded by the electricity company, from bank interest in order to get rid of it?

What is incumbent upon you is to strive to remove the injustice inflicted upon you by all legitimate means within your capability. If that is not possible, then entrust your affair to Allah. It is not permissible for you to pay bank interest to settle the amounts demanded by the electricity company unjustly, as this is unlawful wealth, and your payment of it in this manner is considered benefiting from it. What is incumbent upon you is to withdraw your money from usurious banks and transfer it to Islamic banks or places of depositing money that do not involve usury, and to dispose of usurious interest by giving it to one of the public charitable causes.
