Is it permissible to read and memorize the Qur’an without wudu (ablution) for ease and to remove hardship, especially when there is a need to utilize the long periods between prayers?

Ablution is required to touch the Mushaf (copy of the Quran) for recitation and memorization. However, some scholars have permitted a person in a state of minor impurity to touch the Mushaf for the purpose of learning. It is preferable to use electronic copies of the Quran when not in a state of ablution.
