Is receiving a salary from someone after being dismissed from the vice-imam position permissible (halal) or forbidden (haram), especially when the payer refuses to disburse it to the replacement, and both the imam and the official refuse to receive it?

There is no sin upon the dismissed deputy for taking the donated salary, because the donor has the right to give it to whomever he wishes.

If the donor stipulated to the deputy that the salary should not be given to the Imam or the official, the majority of scholars believe that this condition is invalid and there is no sin in violating it.

However, Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah held that this condition is valid and must be fulfilled, and that the safest course of action is not to give the salary to the Imam or the official if the donor stipulated that.
