What is the ruling on someone who volunteers to reconcile between two people but is met with evil, suspicion, and misinterpretation of his words?

Striving to reconcile people for the sake of Allah is commendable. The reconciler should be thanked for their effort, be patient with accusations, clarify to them that they are not biased towards any party, and seek their reward from Allah.
