What should I do about my wife's continuous dominance and her constant shaming of me with abusive words, and should I divorce her given my suffering with her, especially after my previous suffering with a charlatan?

It is recommended to supplicate and seek refuge with Allah Almighty. A wife is considered disobedient (nashiz) if she acts superior to her husband and insults him, and the remedy for disobedience has been explained in previous fatwas. If the wife's situation does not improve, separating from a bad-tempered person is recommended, but this does not mean divorce is obligatory. Divorce is permissible when there is a need due to the wife's bad character. The husband should be firm yet gentle. The wife has the right to a separate dwelling, and she is not obliged to live with the husband's relatives, but she does not have the right to expel his mother from the house. As for the charlatan man, you did well to avoid him, and one should fortify oneself with adhkar (remembrances of Allah) and trust in Allah and rely upon Him.
