What is the meaning of "the dominance of religion, the subjugation of men, the trial of life, and the trial of death"?

"Ghalabat al-dayn" (being overwhelmed by debt) means its abundance, its takeover, and the inability to repay it. "Qahr ar-rijal" (the subjugation of men) refers to their defeat. As for "fitnat al-mahya" (trials of life), it refers to the worldly desires and tribulations that a person encounters, and their lack of patience. "Fitnat al-mamat" (trials of death) is said to be the trial of the grave, or at the time of agony and the departure of the soul.
