Does a divorce occur for a wife to whom her husband said, "If you leave the door, then you are divorced," and then she left, while he dislikes divorcing her, and then he said to her, "You are divorced," as an announcement, based on the opinion of Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah?

The jurisprudential schools regarding divorce contingent on a condition: The majority of scholars hold that divorce occurs as soon as the condition is met, while others (including Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn Baz) believe it depends on the husband's intention; if he intended divorce, it occurs, otherwise not.

As for divorce by reporting it, no new divorce occurs by a man saying: "I divorced my wife" or "she is divorced" if he is reporting about a previous divorce, and it does not create a new divorce.

If the wife leaves after divorce was made contingent on her leaving, and the husband believed it occurred and informed her of it, no new divorce occurs by this notification. The consideration is for the first contingent divorce: - If the husband did not intend divorce when making it contingent, but rather intended prevention, then the divorce does not occur, and his belief in its occurrence or his reporting it has no effect. - If the husband intended divorce when making it contingent, it occurs upon her leaving, and his reporting was a report about a valid ruling, and no second divorce occurs by it.
