What is the ruling on a father dedicating his properties as a waqf before his death so that his dissolute, unemployed son does not inherit them? And is there a better way to achieve this purpose?

If a man is afflicted with a disobedient son and fears that he will use his inheritance for disobedience to Allah, then it is more befitting for him to spend all his money in charitable causes. This is better than leaving it for the disobedient son to spend on what Allah has forbidden, thereby aiding him in sin.
