Is it permissible to describe someone as having the attributes of prophets, or to use the word "prophet" metaphorically in poetry or writing for a person of high status? And is this action considered a departure from Islam or apostasy? And what is the ruling on someone who declares a Muslim to be an apostate?

A Muslim must restrain his tongue, for the tongue is a cause for people entering Hellfire. If one exaggerates in praising a person, describing them with the attributes of prophets or a prophet, then this statement goes beyond the permissible exaggeration in Islamic law, but it does not reach the level of disbelief or apostasy. Declaring a Muslim a disbeliever is a serious matter and only applies to those who have met the conditions for excommunication and from whom its impediments are absent. Whoever declares a Muslim a disbeliever when they do not deserve it has incurred a great sin, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a man says to his brother, 'O disbeliever,' then it has returned upon one of them. If he was as he said, then good; otherwise, it has returned upon him." This does not mean that whoever declares another a disbeliever becomes a disbeliever himself, but rather the sin of declaring someone a disbeliever when they do not deserve it returns upon him.
