Is estrangement from relatives who practice sorcery, cause severe harm, and hinder livelihoods considered a severance of kinship ties that warrants God's wrath, especially since the children refuse to meet them due to their gloating and insults?

It is obligatory to maintain ties of kinship, even if they sever them. The minimum level of maintaining ties is to avoid boycotting them and to greet them with peace. If they cause harm, then through patience and piety, one will attain Allah's protection. It is not permissible to accuse people of witchcraft without clear evidence, and rulings are not built upon visions and dreams. Whoever believes they have been afflicted by magic should resort to legal ruqyah (exorcism). If a husband falls short in providing for his wife and children despite being able to do so, it is an injustice. He must provide for them appropriately and deal justly between his two wives. If a husband does not retain his wife with kindness or separate from her with goodness, then leaving her like one suspended is impermissible. The wife has the right to demand maintenance from her husband if she is not disobedient, and she may take it from his wealth to the extent of her right. Likewise, the mother has the right to reclaim what she spent on her children with the intention of claiming it back from the husband. It is permissible to refer the matter to a judge in case of dispute. Fathers must treat their children equally in gifts and emotional matters.
