What is the ruling on a father buying revealing clothes for his young or adolescent daughter, if she asks him to do so?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is not permissible for a father to buy clothes for his adult daughter that do not meet the conditions of the legal hijab if she will go out in them or wear them in front of non-mahram men. This is because it constitutes cooperation in sin and aggression. He must, instead, obligate her to wear the legal hijab. However, if the girl only wears these clothes when she is alone or in front of her mahrams, there is no harm for the father in buying them.
