Is it permissible to modify an Xbox device to use non-original (pirated) discs without the consent of the manufacturing company?

There is no harm in modifying your device, and the manufacturer's knowledge is not taken into consideration. As for buying pirated discs, it is not permissible if the owners of the original copies prohibit their duplication.
