The book "Princes of the Believers in Hadith" compiled twenty-six scholars who were given the title "Amir al-Mu'minin in Hadith," arranged according to their death dates. The last of them was Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Amir al-San'ani, author of the book "Subul al-Salam."

It was mentioned that some imams were not given this title, among them Imam Ahmad, Yahya ibn Ma'in, and Muslim. This title is considered one of the highest in the science of Hadith, and only the exceptional and rare luminaries among the imams in this field, who were the ultimate authority, were honored with it.
