How can one strengthen their resolve and act in a way that benefits themselves and the Islamic nation, overcome feelings of being lost, weak ambition, low self-esteem, and the desire to die?
The best way to preserve time is to maintain the obligatory acts of worship, especially prayer, for it reminds the Muslim of their time. A person's life is their time, so it should not be wasted without benefit in religious or worldly matters. A Muslim's goal in life is to worship Allah, populate the earth, and establish truth and justice, thereby achieving happiness in this world and the hereafter. It is not permissible to wish for death due to harm that has afflicted a servant; rather, one should supplicate: "O Allah, keep me alive as long as life is better for me, and cause me to die if death is better for me," because an increase in lifespan is good for a Muslim to increase in good deeds and repent from evil.
