What should a wife do if her husband gets angry and goes to another room after she tries to appease him, and she accuses him of causing her to have a stroke?
Spouses must live together in kindness. If the wife falls short or angers her husband, she must seek to appease him. It is a virtue of her character to strive for this, even if he is in the wrong; for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Shall I not inform you about your women among the people of Paradise? The affectionate, the fertile, the one who is helpful to her husband. She is the one who, if she harms or is harmed, comes and takes her husband's hand and then says: 'By Allah, I shall not taste sleep until you are pleased.'" If the wife fulfills her husband's right and apologizes, he has no right to abandon her. If she is harmed, sensible people should mediate between them. If the husband persists, she has the right to refer her case to the Sharia judge.
