What is the ruling on not adhering to promises made to employees who admit their mistakes, and [instead] applying penalties to them?
An employee must offer advice and be sincere in their work. If they make a mistake, they should not be held accountable, based on the words of the Almighty: "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred," and the words of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Mistakes and forgetfulness have been lifted from my Ummah." However, if they intentionally commit a violation, they must confess, seek forgiveness, and commit to not repeating it. Forgiving them is preferable if they do not repeat it. Punishments should be applied to those who repeatedly commit violations. It is not permissible to promise them forgiveness and then break that promise, as it is a lie and a breach of promise.
