Is it permissible to write a novel whose events take place in a Christian country with Christian characters, devoid of forbidden things, and which is read only by close acquaintances, along with enjoining good and forbidding evil?

The ruling on writing stories is based on their content and the author's intention. If the content of the novel is sound and free from anything that glorifies Christians and their religion, or other false matters, then it is permissible to write it. It is advisable to avoid excessive writing or reading of stories by non-Muslims, for fear that the heart may become attached to them, as this could lead to serious consequences. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A person will be with whom he loves."
