Do the sayings, "If you are afflicted, then conceal it," and "Do not make Allah the least of those who look upon you," contradict each other?

There is no contradiction between encouraging a person to conceal their sins and not to publicize them, and encouraging modesty before Allah Almighty. For one who conceals their sin is less evil than one who publicizes sins. It is important to note the danger of a person feeling shy before people but not feeling shy before Allah, displaying obedience in front of people while brazenly committing sins against Allah in private.
