Did the founder of the Shiite doctrine establish it to create divisions among Muslims, exploiting their differences regarding the imamate of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and is he Jewish or of Jewish origin, or does he have ties to secret organizations?

Many scholars believe that Shiism for Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, began with the assassination of Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, and that the seed of Shiism was sown by Abdullah ibn Saba', the Jew, in the last days of Uthman’s reign, may Allah be pleased with him. This is acknowledged by Shia books. Abdullah ibn Saba' was the first to claim a divine designation (nass) for Ali’s imamate and his martyrdom, and to preach the concept of raj'ah (return). He was the leader of the Saba’iyyah sect, which claimed Ali’s divinity. He was also the first to openly revile the three caliphs and the Companions. He traveled to spread his sedition in Islamic cities. Early Sunni and Shia scholars have agreed that Ibn Saba’ is a real historical figure.
