Why did the angels mention to our Lady Mary in Surat Aal-Imran that the name of the newborn is "the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary," and not "the Muslim" or "the Druze"?

The term "Al-Masih" (the Messiah) in the verse does not refer to Christianity, and the meaning of the word "Al-Masih" was previously explained in Fatwa no. 54953.

All prophets came with the call to the religion of Islam, which Allah approved for humanity. Whoever seeks a religion other than it will be among the losers. Allah the Almighty says: "And whoever desires a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers."

And Allah the Almighty says: "Allah bears witness that there is no god but He, and [so do] the angels and those of knowledge, maintaining [His creation] in justice. There is no god but He, the Almighty, the Wise. Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam."

Among the proofs that they came with the call to monotheism is the saying of Allah the Almighty: "And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], 'Worship Allah and avoid Taghut (false deities).'"

Regarding the Messiah, Allah the Almighty says: "And the Messiah said, 'O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.' Indeed, whoever associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And for the wrongdoers there are no helpers."
