Is it permissible to suffice with a single salutation to the right in prayer?

The best way to conclude the prayer with the salutation is by saying two salutations, starting with the right and then the left, saying "Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah" (Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah). If one restricts it to a single salutation, their prayer is still valid, as the majority of scholars hold that only one salutation is obligatory.
