Is hanging Iranian carpets on walls permissible in China?

If the hanging of the aforementioned carpets does not stem from pride or arrogance, and there is no extravagance, squandering, or waste of money involved, then scholars have deemed it reprehensible (makruh) but not forbidden (haram). This is based on what Al-Nawawi said: "There is nothing in the hadith that necessitates its prohibition, because the true meaning of the wording is that Allah the Almighty has not commanded us to do that. This implies that it is neither obligatory nor recommended, and it does not necessitate prohibition."
