Am I entitled to seek a divorce from my husband due to my feeling unsafe with him, his neglect of me and my family, and his abstaining from marital relations for long periods, and are these reasons sufficient for divorce under Islamic law?

If the husband does not fulfill his wife's right to conjugal relations, the wife has the right to seek divorce or khulʿ. However, it is preferable for her to be patient with him if possible, as long as it does not cause harm, especially if there are children. The wife can encourage her husband to seek treatment if his abstention is due to a physical or psychological excuse. The relationship with the husband's family should not be a cause for dispute, as what is important is the relationship between the spouses and their living together in kindness.
