من هو إسرائيل؟

"Israel" is the Prophet of Allah, Ya'qub (Jacob), peace be upon him. He is the son of Ishaq (Isaac) bin Ibrahim (Abraham), peace be upon them. The Holy Quran mentions Ya'qub by his name Israel in several places, as in His (Allah's) saying: "All food was lawful to the Children of Israel except what Israel made unlawful to himself before the Torah was revealed" [Aal-Imran: 93]. And it is to him that the Children of Israel are traced.
