Are the Children of Israel mentioned in the Qur’an the same as those present today in Palestine?

The exegetes have agreed that Israel is Jacob, son of Isaac, son of Abraham, peace be upon them, and the Children of Israel are his descendants, the Jews. Whoever among them is in Palestine today or elsewhere is encompassed by the Quranic address to the Children of Israel until the Day of Judgment, just as the Quran addressed them during the time of the Prophet, peace be upon him, regarding what their forefathers did. For instance, Allah says: "And [recall] when We took your covenant and raised over you the mount: 'Seize with strength what We have given you and remember what is in it that you may become righteous.' Then you turned away after that. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, you would have been among the losers. And you had already known about those who transgressed among you concerning the Sabbath, and We said to them, 'Be apes, despised.'" And likewise His saying: "And [recall] when We parted the sea for you and saved you and drowned the people of Pharaoh while you looked on."
