The answer

Among the conditions for zakat are the completion of the nisab (minimum taxable amount) and the passing of a hawl (lunar year) according to the Hijri calendar. It is not permissible to pay zakat before possessing the nisab. If the saved amount is less than the nisab, there is no zakat due on it. If it reaches the nisab, zakat is not obligatory until a hawl has passed. It is permissible to pay zakat in advance after the nisab is completed but before the hawl has passed, according to the majority of scholars. However, after the hawl is completed, the amount of accelerated zakat paid must be reconciled. If it was less than the obligatory amount, the remaining obligation must be completed. It is not sufficient to pay zakat in monthly installments after the hawl has passed, unless there is a legitimate Shariah interest that is recognized.
