What is the ruling on saying: "Our Master Muhammad, may God's prayers and peace be upon him"? And what is the meaning of the Hadith of Abdullah ibn Al-Shikhkhir, may God be pleased with him: "The Master is God, blessed and exalted be He," and "Say with your words or some of your words, and do not let Satan lead you astray"?

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, is the master of the children of Adam, by the consensus of the people of knowledge. It is permissible to describe him as "Our Master Muhammad" (Sayyiduna Muhammad) in contexts other than those specifically designated by Sharia where it should not be mentioned, such as the Tashahhud, the Adhan, and the Iqamah; this is because its mention has not been reported in the Sharia texts for these specific instances. It is permissible to use the word "Sayyid" (master/lord) for others besides Allah, such as human beings, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used it for some of his Companions. His saying, peace and blessings be upon him, "The Master (Sayyid) is Allah," is out of humility and to prevent exaggeration regarding him.
