Is there any religious impediment to admiring a woman who uncovers her hair or displays her adornment—whether she is Muslim or non-Muslim—and is it wrong to wish that Allah would grant me someone more beautiful and more enjoyable for myself only, based on the suspicion of a prohibition against admiring the bodies of disbelievers?

A Muslim must lower his gaze from forbidden things. There is no sin upon him if he averts his gaze after an accidental glance. He may ask Allah to marry someone who is more beautiful. A Muslim should not dwell on thoughts of a woman he admires, fearing that his heart may become attached to her, leading him to commit forbidden acts. As for the noble verse, "And when you see them, their bodies please you," it does not address this meaning. Rather, it describes hypocrites as having outwardly pleasing appearances while their inner selves are devoid of faith.
