It is impermissible by consensus to abort a fetus after the ensoulment (blowing of the spirit). As for before ensoulment, there is a dispute, and the Council of Senior Scholars has permitted it if it is in the first stage for a [valid] reason. However, completing studies is not a justification for aborting a fetus, because education can continue after birth.
