Is it permissible for children to ask their mother to seek a divorce from her husband who does not provide for her, and do they have rights and duties towards the mother and the husband?

If the husband becomes unable to provide maintenance, the wife has the right to seek khul'. However, if she is content to remain with him in this state and waives her right, she should not be compelled to seek khul'. Rather, it is obligatory to obey her, treat her kindly, and fulfill her needs, due to Allah's saying: ﴿And to parents, do good.﴾ Her marriage to a poor man does not negate her right to maintenance and other rights as long as the husband is unable to provide for her.
