What is the ruling on friendships and dating between young men and women for the purpose of love, which includes secret meetings and communication via phone and the internet without the knowledge of the parents, taking into account that this was not present during the era of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, so how can it be forbidden?

Familiarity, friendship, and love relationships between young men and women are not permissible, because they are a gateway to evil and corruption that leads to dire consequences. Objecting to this prohibition, under the pretext of the modernity of communication means, is a baseless objection. Means have the rulings of their ends, and whatever is a means to the forbidden is itself forbidden. Islamic law has blocked the door to temptation by prohibiting everything that invites disobedience.
