Is the Qur'an created or not, and what is the meaning of it being uncreated while it is composed of letters and words, and is it Allah?

The Quran is the uncreated speech of Allah, and it is one of His attributes. He spoke it in reality with sound and letter, and He made Gabriel hear it, and Gabriel brought it down to Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. The Imams adduced as proof for this the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He created." For seeking refuge cannot be in a created thing. Imam Ahmad said: "The Quran is the speech of Allah wherever it is recited," and the Quran is one, even if many recite it. The Quran is the wording and meaning with which Allah spoke, and Gabriel transmitted it to Muhammad, and then Muhammad conveyed it to the people, and it is the uncreated speech of Allah. We worship Allah the Almighty and devote ourselves to Him through His attributes, and among His attributes is the Noble Quran.
