The answer

The soul of a believer meets with the souls of the deceased believers and converses with them, and it is hoped that this includes the questioner and her friend.

As for the righteous deeds you offer for the deceased woman, we hope that Allah will benefit her by them, as many scholars have affirmed. Every act of devotion performed by a Muslim, the reward of which is dedicated to another Muslim, benefits them, and they receive the reward.

As for the deceased woman's awareness of your deeds, this has been explained in previous fatwas.

As for the deceased woman awaiting to meet her children who are close to death, we do not believe this to be true, because the lifespans of the people of this world are among the matters of the unseen, and there is no evidence that the dead are aware of them.
