What is the ruling on saying, "It's pouring from the Lord," when the rain is heavy?

There is no objection to saying the phrase "the pouring is from Allah" if it is intended to mean that the heavy rain is from Allah the Almighty, for "pouring" here signifies abundant shedding and profusion. Nevertheless, a Muslim should adhere to the prophetic supplications when rain falls and after it, such as: "O Allah, a beneficial downpour" upon seeing the rain, and "We have been given rain by the grace and mercy of Allah" after the rain subsides. And when fearing harm from the rain, one should say: "O Allah, let it be around us and not upon us. O Allah, let it be on the hillocks, the mountains, the bottoms of the valleys, and the places where trees grow."
