How can the talent of acting be utilized in permissible matters?

Scholars have differed regarding the ruling on acting. Some have prohibited it, while others have permitted it if it is free from religious prohibitions. This latter view is the one that is issued as a fatwa. Therefore, whoever adopts the permissive view and performs acting that is free from religious prohibitions incurs no sin. And if their purpose is to correct a misconception, or to call to virtue, or to warn against vice, then they have done well.
