Does attempting to return to watching forbidden things, then backing down before committing the sin, count as continued sin and invalidate repentance?

May Allah bless your repentance and make you steadfast upon it. The acceptance of repentance is contingent upon abandoning the sin, regretting it, and resolving not to return to it. Your searching for forbidden things and then refraining from watching them is not an indication that your repentance is not accepted. However, you must cut off all paths leading to disobedience, such as disconnecting from the internet or shutting down the device when such thoughts arise. Seek refuge with Allah from Satan, and frequently supplicate for success and infallibility. If you fall into sin, repent immediately, increase your seeking of forgiveness, and do not despair of Allah's mercy.
