Is repeated falling into sin after repentance considered persistence in disobedience, and does it thereby transform into a major sin? And is the validity of repentance affected by recalling forbidden images and the subsequent arousal of desire, and does this feeling contradict remorse?

One must hasten to sincere repentance from sins because they blacken and harden the heart. Persisting in looking at forbidden things leads to committing major sins. Whoever repents with sincere repentance, fulfilling its conditions, Allah accepts his repentance and forgives him, even if the sin is repeated and then repented from. Persistence in a minor sin makes it a major sin if its perpetrator does not repent or belittles it. Remembering a sin after repentance does not necessitate renewing repentance unless the heart does not recoil from it and takes pleasure in it. A sudden feeling of lust is not blameworthy as long as it is not deliberately sought out. Among the things that help with repentance are lowering the gaze, supplication, and hastening to marry.
