Why does Allah guide me to seek knowledge and provide it for me, while I disobey Him? Won't this establish a proof against me on the Day of Resurrection?

For guidance and steadfastness:

1. Rely on Allah and depend on Him, and take the means to achieve steadfastness, such as keeping company with the righteous, and increasing remembrance (Dhikr) and supplication (Du'a).

2. Seeking knowledge is an act of worship beloved to Allah Almighty, and one should not be lazy in it.

3. True knowledge is that which its owner acts upon, and which instills fear of Allah Almighty. The most honorable of knowledge is the knowledge of Allah, His Names and Attributes, and His promise and warning.

4. Recognizing Allah's favor through knowledge and striving in inviting to Him, as this is one of the greatest aids to steadfastness.

5. Allah Almighty has profound wisdom in His decreeing sins upon the children of Adam, and He does not test with them except for a purpose.

6. Hasten to repent from sins and do not despair of Allah's mercy. Repeat repentance even if Satan tempts one back to sin, in fulfillment of His (Allah's) saying: "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'"
