Does a divorce take place in the Shafi'i school of thought if a person presses the number 3 on a computer or mobile phone, or writes "three" with the intention of divorce?

If a person who is not mute presses the number three on a phone or computer, or writes "three," intending thereby to pronounce a divorce, the divorce does not take effect. This is because it is neither an explicit statement nor an implicit one (kinaya) regarding divorce. Rather, it is closer to a gesture, and a gesture from someone capable of speech does not result in divorce, even if intended, as mentioned by the Shafi'is.
