Does the Qur’anic assertion that Jesus was not crucified represent a divine deception, and what is the fault of the Jews in that? And does God permit the distortion of His word despite Jesus’ saying: "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away"?

Christ, peace be upon him, is a messenger and a human being, described as such in the Holy Quran and in the Gospel. He was not crucified; rather, Allah raised him to Himself, as indicated by the Quran and the Gospels themselves. The Jews sought to crucify him, but Allah saved him. The Gospels have been distorted and contradict each other, evidence of which is the absence of reliable original copies and the existence of discrepancies among them. The Holy Quran is the only book preserved from distortion. Christ’s saying, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away," means that what he foretold about his descent will certainly come to pass, and it does not indicate that the Gospels are free from distortion.
