Why did God not reveal the Quran and send Muhammad to correct the belief that Christ was crucified, immediately after the alleged crucifixion incident, instead of leaving them for 600 years in error and superstitions believing that Christ was not crucified and that the Gospel was distorted, while historical and scientific evidence and eyewitness testimonies all agree on the crucifixion of Christ?

Not everyone in the world believes in the crucifixion of Christ; rather, the majority do not, and even some ancient Christian sects denied the crucifixion. The news conveyed by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, peace be upon him, that Christ was not crucified, is the truth, for he is the Messenger of God who receives revelation. This is confirmed by the leaders of his adversaries and even some priests who embraced Islam. The Gospels themselves differ regarding the witnesses to the crucifixion and mention that the disciples were not present at the event but had fled. The condition of mass transmission (tawatur) is not met in the incident of the crucifixion, as only a few women attended it, and they were unable to confirm the identity of the crucified person. Not all four Gospels were authored by the disciples, and they differed among themselves in the details of the crucifixion, which undermines confidence in their statements. Believing in the crucifixion of Christ before the Qur'an was not disbelief; rather, disbelief lies in deifying Christ and associating partners with God. The Qur'anic verse denied the crucifixion of Christ and affirmed his ascension, and the Qur'an's preoccupation was not with the crucifixion as much as it was with monotheism (Tawhid).
