Is the muezzin, officially tasked with playing the unified adhan, reciting the Qur’an before the adhan, and vocally invoking blessings upon the Prophet after the adhan, sinful, given his knowledge of the harm that will befall him if he does not do so?

Firstly: The call to prayer (adhan) from a recording device, or from a radio, or from a single location and transmitted via devices to other mosques, is an innovated bid'ah.

Secondly: Reciting the Quran, tasbihat (glorifications), and dhikr (remembrances) before the adhan for the five prayers is an innovated bid'ah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) and his companions did not do it, and every bid'ah is misguidance.

Thirdly: Loudly proclaiming prayers upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) by the muezzin after the adhan is an innovated bid'ah, because the adhan is an act of worship in which neither addition nor subtraction is permissible. These people have mixed the adhan with what precedes and follows it from the Quran and remembrances, thereby spoiling the adhan and causing annoyance to people. Prayers upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) after the adhan should be in a quiet voice, not loudly like the adhan, because it gives the impression that it is part of the adhan, and an addition to the adhan is not permissible.

Fourthly: If the innovation of the unified adhan, the innovation of tasbih and dhikr and Quran recitation before the adhan, and the innovation of loudly proclaiming prayers and salutations upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) become clear, then it is not permissible for the muezzin to perform these actions. If the matter is temporary or if he can transfer to another job, he may remain. Otherwise, there is no justification for remaining in a job that contributes to the spread of innovations.
