Is it true that some disbelievers love Muslims and wish them well, and does the ruling on that differ between their common folk and their scholars?

Allah Almighty has clarified that the disbelievers harbor enmity towards Muslims, and they will not be pleased with them until they follow their religion. They spare no effort in corrupting Muslims, and they wish to turn them back into disbelievers out of envy from themselves. The verses reveal that disbelievers express affection with their mouths, but their hearts conceal enmity. If any love appears from some disbelievers, it is either feigned and lacks reality, or it is directed towards those who have befriended disbelievers and disavowed their religion, or it falls under the category of the rare, which holds no general ruling. A Muslim must be cautious of befriending, showing affection to, or taking disbelievers as close associates.
