What is the ruling on my presence in an assembly where God's veil is uncovered, what is the extent of my responsibility to denounce the doer of evil whom I do not know or with whom I have a limited relationship, and how do I gain the courage to enjoin good and forbid evil?

A person who speaks about the sin they committed is considered to be one of those who publicize their sins, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "All of my Ummah are pardoned except those who publicize their sins. And indeed, it is a form of publicizing one's sins when a man commits an act at night, and then he wakes up having been covered by Allah, but he says, 'O so-and-so, last night I did such-and-such.' While he had spent the night with his Lord covering him, he wakes up uncovering Allah's covering from himself." If the sin is one of the unanimously agreed-upon prohibitions, then he should be advised secretly to stop committing it, or to stop speaking about it if he has already abandoned it. Advising against reprehensible acts does not require extensive religious knowledge, but rather admonition and reminding of Allah. The lack of a strong relationship with the speaker does not prevent offering advice, because it is a right of a Muslim upon the general Muslims. Boldness in giving advice and enjoining good and forbidding evil is acquired through practice and habituation, and by considering it to be among what Allah has commanded.
