Is it permissible to deal with a post-dated check as a cash payment, by taking a part of it in goods and the remainder in cash?

Scholars have differed regarding the ruling on combining sales and currency exchange, but the most preponderant opinion is that it is permissible. Accordingly, this transaction is permissible if the aforementioned check is a bank check payable on demand or certified by the bank, and the two parties do not separate with anything remaining between them. Receiving the check in this case is considered a valid قبض (seizure/possession). Therefore, there is no objection to deducting the price of the goods and giving him the remainder. However, if the checks are not certified, or if they are post-dated even by one day, then it is not permissible, because it is the sale of cash for deferred cash, in which the legally stipulated قبض (seizure/possession) is not realized.
