The diversity of acts of worship is part of God's wisdom to test His servants as to which of them is best in deeds. It also suits the differences among people in their resources. Some are physical, like prayer; some involve refraining from beloved things, like fasting; some are financial, like zakat; and some are both physical and financial, like Hajj.

Hajj has great benefits, including: - Performing one of the pillars of Islam, which is a type of jihad without combat. - Abundant reward and immense recompense, for an accepted Hajj (Hajj Mabrur) has no reward but Paradise. And whoever performs Hajj and does not engage in sexual intercourse (or obscene talk) nor commit sins will return (free of sins) as on the day his mother bore him. The pilgrims (Hujjaj) and those performing Umrah are God's delegates; He answers their supplications and forgives them. - Establishing the remembrance of God, glorifying Him, and demonstrating His rituals, such as the talbiyah, tawaf, sa'i, standing at Arafat, and stoning the jamarat. - The gathering of Muslims from all regions, fostering affection, acquaintance, and guidance. - Muslims appearing united in time, place, action, and appearance. - Attaining religious and worldly benefits and exchanging interests. - The obligatory and recommended gifts of honoring God's sacred rites and giving charity to the poor.
